If you’re wondering about what the advantage of the Britax Boulevard 70 CS is over the regular Boulevard convertible car seat, here’s your answer:
The CS model contains an additional feature called ‘Click ‘n Safe’. This feature incorporates an audible click into the harness buckle which senses whether or not the harness straps are tight enough, and emits a clicking sound when they are properly tightened.
Is the CS feature worth the extra money?
Probably not!
It is imperative that you, as a parent or caregiver, test the straps to see if there is any ‘pinchable’ slack in the straps after buckling your child into the car seat. In the doll’s straps in the photo above, the harness can be pinched, and as such, is too loose. The CS feature may be a good idea if you think that a grandparent or other caregiver unfamiliar with basic harness tightening rules may be transporting your child on some occasions.
Additionally, some parents have reported that the CS feature can sometimes click before the harness is actually properly tightened.
Note: As of the summer of 2012, Britax has changed the name of the Boulevard CS to the Pavilion, which you can see in the MommiesLike chart here.
