The difference is the design of the head-wings. As you can see in the photos below, the head-wings on the Boulevard come out farther than they do on the Marathon.

There aren’t any standards for side impact protection, thus there is no way to really know if the head-wings really make the seat any safer.

If you have a 2-door car, and plan to use the Boulevard in the rear-facing position, note that you will have that much less room to get your baby into and out of his seat, due to the extra width of the head-wings.

Britax states that their independents tests have shown that these head-wings reduce side-impact crash energy by 45%.
