I was hoping this article would be helpful, but it’s a laugh. The padding is quite different, and the LX comes in multiple colors, not the DLX.
Hi Leah,
The Evenflo website has stated that the LX and DLX version of the Triumph Advance car seat are the same, aside from the issue of padding. Note that different retailers carry different colors, and certain colors or patterns are often only available from one particular merchant.
After doing further research, it seems that newer versions of both the LX and DLX car seats have slightly thicker padding than older versions; however there is no difference of note between the 2 types of Triumph Advances.
So which one has better padding?
We actually have both the LX & the DLX in different cars. There is a difference. The LX has the tension knobs. The DLX does not. It has a strap that has to be pulled between the legs to tighten. I prefer the LX for this reason. I feel like I can get the straps a bit tighter with the tension knob. I’m not as strong with the DLX.
Thank you for this comment!
Thank you! This was actually very helpful! I have the LX currently and LOVE it however it was in a car crash and I need to replace it, was just trying to determine if we should spring for the DLX model. I hate the teather between the legs…I am not strong enough either to pull it tight enough. I cant find any of the DLX in stores so comparing online is hard to do! Thanks again!!!!
